Castilla kick off their preseason

4 day(s)

Real Madrid Castilla 2025-26 is now underway. Our first reserve team, with Álvaro Arbeloa at the helm, trained on Wednesday on pitch 4 of Real Madrid City on their first day of work after undergoing medical tests on Tuesday. Manu Fernández welcomed the group and wished everyone the best of luck for this campaign. Arbeloa, who in the 2004-2005 season was part of the Castilla side that won promotion to the second division, takes the reins of the reserve team after five seasons coaching at the youth academy.
Alongside Arbeloa, the coaching staff will be made up of Julián Carmona, as assistant coach; Ricardo Da Silva, in the position of physical trainer; Francis Sánchez, as assistant; and Diego López, a home-grown product of the club and first team player between 2004-07 and 2012-14, who will be in charge of goalkeeper training.
Castilla have been placed in Group I of Primera Federación and will make their debut on the weekend of 30-31 August against Lugo. They will also take part in the Premier League International Cup this season.
During the pre-season, the reserve team will play the following friendly matches:
26/7: Marbella-Castilla
2/8: Racing de Ferrol-Castilla
8/8: Castilla-Andorra
13/8: Castilla-Valencia Mestalla
17/8: Castilla-Ibiza
22/8: Castilla-Alcorcón
